Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Tendency Barometer Storm Glass combines two traditional weather instruments with a hygrometer for a truly unique way to keep track of the weather. The wood frame on this historical weather instrument is stained in a rich mahogany finish, with a curved glass case. A tendency barometer, an Admiral Fitzroy Storm Glass and a hygrometer are mounted on a brass colored aluminum faceplate for a dazzling effect. Both attractive and functional, this weather instrument will be perfect in any living space. It measures 20 tall and 6.7 wide. The thermometer measures in both Celsius and Fahrenheit and the barometer measures in millibars/ hPa. An absolutely beautiful presentation piece that will last for generations. How to Read the Tendency BarometerThe Tendency Barometer consists of two liquid filled tubes mounted side by side, one is an open ended U-shape tube filled with non-mercury red fluid, and the other is a closed thermometer tube with blue fluid. When the red and blue fluid are at the same level, this means the weather is changing. When the red fluid level is lower than the blue fluid, the weather conditions will be fair (rising air pressure pushes the red fluid down in the tube). When the red fluid is higher than the blue fluid, the weather condition will be stormy (falling air pressure allows the red fluid to move up the tube).
