Yep--the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana is going it alone. Having conquered the teen market under her Hannah Montana moniker, 15-year-old Cyrus is now aiming for the adult world; or at least a slightly older audience. emBreakout /emfollows her dual-marketed emHannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus /emalbum, and differs from it in that she sounds a little more grown up, a little rougher around the edges, and just a touch more self-expressive. Needless to say, emBreakout /emis produced to within an inch of its life. Every aspect, from concept to mixdown, has been polished and buffed to achieve that perfect tween sheen. Despite this resulting in a somewhat sterile and claustrophobic aura, the album manages to achieve some infectious moments. To her credit, Cyrus has co-written most of the songs here (all but two), which largely eschew electronic dancefloor sounds for a guitar-heavy ethic. The punchy title track (co-produced by the Go-Go's Gina Schock), the thrashy, catchy "7 Things" and the boyfriend putdown "Fly On The Wall" are immediate highlights, but ballads such as "Bottom of the Ocean" and her sped up version of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" are much less convincing. emBreakout /emreveals a genuine young talent, but one that's perhaps being rushed way too quickly towards her prime.--emDanny McKenna/em

It's The Best She Can December 28, 2008
1., 2., 3., 4., 5., 6., 7., 10., 11. tracks are very good. But the others aren't the bests of Miley. I'm not a big Miley Cyrus fan so i can honestly say that she doesn't have an amazing voice. By the way 12. track (See You Again REMIX) isn't a successful song (at least it isn't a remix at all). So this album deserves 4 stars.

When I heard the song "7 Things" in radio, I had to get that song. So I decided to buy this album. At first I thought that "7 Things" was sung by Avril Lavigne because she has made great poprock, and her latest album was super. I was surprised that this was Miley. Anyway, I have listened to this album already seven times, and it seems that it doesn't get any better. There's great songs but the whole 40 minutes seems too long to listen to. Miley has a great voice and I believe in her, just the way I belived in Avril when she had just made "Let Go". Only time will show if Miley is as good as Avril - and I hope that.br /Stars: 7 Things, Fly on the Wall, Breakout
 This Album Surprised Me. December 7, 2008
I am kind of surprised by how much I actually like this album. It is a great pop rock album that you will find yourself listening to many times. Many people say they "hate" Miley but there is really no reason to "hate" her. She has done nothing to you. This album is a pretty good mix of fun and fast pop (7 Things, Fly On The Wall, Breakout, Full Circle) to slower ballad type songs (Bottom Of The Ocean, Simple Song, Goodbye.) There is even a song about helping the environment (Wake Up America.)br /br /My favorite Tracks : 7 Things, Fly On The Wall, Simple Song, Full Circle, Drivewaybr /br /Bottom Line : Buy this album and hear some great pop rock from Miley Cyrus! :)
Fly On the Wall December 5, 2008
I am a semi-fan of Miley Cyrus. I like her show and think she is an adroit comedienne. She has great timing. Just want to say "Fly on the wall" is the best song I've heard in a really long time. Better than what Beyonce and Britney have put out so far. Don't really like her other songs but LOVE Fly on the wall.

Awesome, the greatest for little girls. Especially her rendition of Cindy Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun". Miley Cyrus is very talented.
